This study aimed to determine either direct or indirect causal relationship between the research variables.
Each of education and unemployment variables has a direct relationship with the poverty of the population.
In addition, education and unemployment have an indirect relationship with the poverty of the population
through unemployment variable. This study used secondary data-time series (Statistics Indonesia – BPS)
of the last 16 years between the years of 2000 to 2015. The results proved that the path analysis between
education and poverty has a direct and/or negative relationship, except between unemployment and poverty
there has a direct and/or positive relationship. While the analysis of the relationship between education
and unemployment through economic growth toward the poverty of the population has a negative one.
