| Abstract | This paper seeks to quantify the effect of changes in the minimum wage on the unemployment rate during the period 2008-2015 in Colombia, based on monthly series obtained from the Gran integrated household survey DANE (GEIH) for the national total ( municipal and rural) headers, the results suggest that an increase in the minimum wage produces a slight increase in the unemployment rate during the study period, however, it is concluded that the minimum wage is not a determinant of the unemployment rate in Colombia. |
