Abstract
This work is based on the neo-structuralist tradition and aims to analyze the evolution of real labor
productivity in convergence processes, experienced by the manufacturing industry in Colombia
during the period 2000-2013. The analysis is done from the economic theory and recent industry
behavior described by its participation: in the product, imports and exports. This analysis allows to
recognize the symptoms of Dutch disease associated with high degree of heterogeneity and
specialization that the production structure has been showing since the 1980s. Finally, through a
model of pooled ordinary least squares (POLS), it can be shown divergent effect experienced
subsectors that make up the manufacturing industry (3-digit) during this period.
