The College of Educational Sciences has been founded in 1973 to be responsible for
preparing educational professionals in Jordan. The college constitutes of four departments in
which the department of Counseling and Special Education is one of them. Currently, the
department is offering graduate and undergraduate degrees in special education. In the fourth
year, students are required to take the practicum in special education before graduation. The
practicum requires students to participate in teaching individuals with disabilities through the
collaboration with some special education institutions in Jordan. A full description of the
practicum and its purposes, syllabus, personnel, and other aspects is presented in the paper. In
addition, challenges and difficulties are discussed as well as appendices are provided to give a
thorough illustration for the practicum.
