Abstract
Property entitlement is the function of socio-cultural practices. Only few
women (1 in 10) have house and land in their ownerships in Nepal. Areas
with less development as Far and Mid-western region and Mountain belt
have relatively poor condition of ownership of house and land of women.
Policies to encourage the transfer of house and land are to be adopted for
the improvement of women's self-esteem and decision making.
