Abstract
This paper examines whether interethnic marriage of parents is associated with educational
performance of children in Vietnam using data from the 2009 Population and Housing
Census. It finds that interethnic marriage of parents is associated with educational
attainment of children in Vietnam. Children with parents from different ethnic groups tend
to have better education and lower disability incidence than children with parents from one
ethnic minority group
