| Abstract | The purpose of this paper is to outline policy orientations in Botswana which serve to promote lifelong learning. It will therefore provide a case study of a developing country in which lifelong learning is gaining increased significance as a strategy for economic and social development. The focus of these orientations is on the life-span learning needs of youth and adults in a modern, changing society, and as yet little attention has been given to the implications for young people in initial education. |
