Abstract
The “Push Pull” technology’s which is effective in controlling Stem borer and striga weeds in maize is under-utilized and its benefits are yet unrealized. In Kenya, agricultural shows are organized every year to promote agricultural technologies but their effectiveness to promote the “Push Pull” technology has not been established. This study provided the missing information using a cross-sectional research design to collect data from a population of 800 farmers at Kisumu agricultural show in Western Kenya. A valid, closed-ended questionnaire whose 0.85a reliability was above the 0.70 acceptable was used. Data was analysed using Chi-square at 0.05a. The results showed that farmers got hands-on training and better understanding of how the “Push Pull” technology works to control striga and stem borer pests in Kisumu agricultural shows. It was concluded that agricultural shows were appropriate for spreading information on “Push Pull” technology.
