Abstract
The Biosphere Reserve of Montes Azules (REBIMA in Spanish) is a historically problematic place where intertwined prejudices and problems hinder environmental conservation. Indigenous women are increasingly joining the resistance and leadership in the area, although Martha E. Villavicencio Enríquez argues that their experience has not been properly taken into account both in the generation of concepts about spatial planning and training and in the proposal of new skills for the management of the land.
