| Abstract | The distribution and status of bezoar goat in the Eastern Caucasus was assessed through field surveys and compared with previous data. Factors impacting on the population were assessed, a public awareness campaign was initiated and recommendations for conservation of the species were developed. The total population size was estimated at 2,000. Poaching is the main threat to bezoar goats in the study area. |
