Abstract
Under-five child mortality rate is one of
the main indicators of the standard of living or
development of a population. The cause-specific
under-five mortality of Bangladesh has been
studied by fitting Cox Proportional Hazard (PH)
model. For the purpose of analysis, Bangladesh
Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS), 2014
data set was used. Product-Limit survival
probabilities for the under-five child mortality with
log-rank test were used to select a set of covariates
for the regression model. Factors found to have
significant effect on under-five child mortality are
maternal education, wealth index and region.
