Socio-Economic/Monitoring Survey [hh/sems]
Since 1992, BPS through Susenas collecting core data (baseline data) and data module (specific data) every year. Susenas module is divided into 3 major groups, that is socio-cultural and educational modules, housing and health modules household consumption and expenditure, the implementation of each module is performed per 3 years.

Susenas (National Socio-economic Survey) was held for the first time in year 1963. In the last two decades, up to year 2010, Susenas was conducted every year. Susenas was designed to have 3 modules (Module of Household Consumption/Expenditure, Module of Education and Socio-culture, and also Module of Health and Housing) and each module should be conducted every 3 years. Household Consumption/ Expenditure Module of Susenas shall be conducted in year 2011 .
To improve the accuracy of data result and in line with the increased frequency of household consumption/expenditure data request for quarterly GDP/GRDP and poverty calculation, data collection of household consumption/expenditure, it is planned that starting in 2011 it should be held quarterly. Each year, collecting data shall be conducted in March, June, September, and December.
In accordance with the 5-year cycle, in year 2012, BPS (Central Statistical Agency) shall have planned Survei Biaya Hidup-SBH (Cost of Living Survey) with the aim to generate a commodity package and a weigh diagram in the calculation of Consumer Price Index (CPI). Data of food and non-food consumption expenditures as well as household characteristics collected in SBH and Susenas has the same concept/definition, but different implementation time. In order to be more efficient in the utilization of resources of the two surveys and to have a better quality of results achieved, in year 2011 a trial of Susenas and SBH integration shall be conducted in 7 cities (Medan, Sampit, Denpasar, Kudus, Bulukumba, Tual, and South Jakarta).
Poverty data, CPI/Inflation data, GDP/GRDP are BPS strategic data that have to be released on time. Therefore, planning, field preparation, processing, and presentation of data Susenas 2011 activities and trial of integrating Susenas and SBH must be in accordance with the set schedule.
Activities of Susenas 2011 preparation shall be conducted in year 2010, covering activities of workshop/training of chief instructor with the aim to synchronize the perception toward the concept/definition as well as procedure and protocol of survey implementation. National instructor training will also be conducted in year 2010.

Susenas 2011 cover 300,000 household sample spread all over Indonesia where each quarter distribute about 75,000 household sample (including 500 households additional sample for Survey in Maluku Province).
The result from each quarter can produce national and provincial level estimates. Meanwhile from the cummulative four quarter, the data can be presented until the district/municipality level.
Sample survey data [ssd]
The type of data collected by Core questionnaire (VSEN11.K) covers:
a. General description of household members, i.e. name, relation with household head, gender, age, marital status; Information on household members who are victims of crime; Information on household members who travel; Birth certificates information; and Information on household members who attended pre-schools.
b. Information of birthplace, residence of 5 years ago and the presence of natural mother in the household.
c. Information on health, among others, covers the health of residents and toddlers.
d. Information on education of household members aged 5 years and older and also access to internet.
e. Information on employment activities of household members aged 10 years and older.
f. Information on fertility for women who had been married and birth control for married women.
g. Information on housing, among others, covers housing possession, drinking water sources, toilet facilities, etc..
h. Other socio-economic information, among others, covering utilization of poverty alleviation program facilities (free health care services, rice for the poor/raskin, health card, credit facility utilization), as well as assets and insurances of household.
i. Information on communication and information technologies which covers possession of landline phones, cellular phones (HP), total cellular phone numbers and computer possession.
Type of data collected by the questionnaire of Consumption Module (VSEN11.M) covers:
a. Information on quantities and values of food, drink, and tobacco consumption both from buying and own production or gifts. Consumption on food, drink and tobacco covers 215 commodities divided into 14 groups.
b. Information on household expenditures for non-food goods covers groups of housing and household facilities, various goods and services, clothing, footwear and headgear, durable goods, tax, collection, and insurance, as well as expenditure for parties and ceremonies. Non-food consumption includes 108 details divided into 6 groups.
From the master sampling frame (Nh enumeration areas) were retractable sample enumeration areas in a probability proportional to size (pps) method, nh acquired 30,000 enumeration areas. Then divided into 4 quarters so that each quarter 7,500 enumeration areas. The next stage selected one census block (BS) in a probability proportional to size (pps) method, whereas size is the number of households from SP 2010 RBL1. The last stage, of each BS Susenas been selected for a number of common household (m = 10) based on the results of systematic updating of listing of households using SP 2010 C1 VSEN2011 List - P. Then do the enumeration of 75,000 households.

1. The head of household (krt) is a man in a group of household members who is responsible to provide the daily needs of the concerned households, or a person who is considerend/appointed to be the head of a household (for example a group of students live together in one room inside a census building; because they each are responsible for their own needs, one person is appointed as the household head).
2. Wife/husband, is the wife/husband of the head of household.
3. Children, includes biological children, stepchildren, and adopted children of the head of household.
4. Son/daughter in laws, are the husbands/wives of biological daughters/sons, step daughters/sons, or adopted daughters/sons.

A household that organizes gambling or distributes drugs is not necessarily a victim (criminal household), unless there is a member of the household who has become a victim of crime due to other household is a gambler or junkie.

1. Kindergarten (TK) / Bustanul Athfal (BA)/Raudatul Athfal (RA) is a pre-school education before entering elementary school (SD).
2. Play group is a pre-school education program before kindergatren, which program is to teach children to socialize among them by way of playing. Play group is commonly called PG.
3. Day care is a place/center for nursing children which includes a pre-school education program. Day care center usually takes care of children whose parents works. Day care center has a stimulation program for children, among others: toys/play tools (rough motor/muscles), learning shapes (soft motor) and playing (socializing). Other names that might be found for such center is full day or day care.
3. PAUD (Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini) or Early Age Children Education is a developing effort targeted to children from 0 to 6 years old that is performed through providing educational stimulation to help physical and mental growth and development so that children have preparedness in entering the next phase of education (Article 1, point 14, Law of National Education System/Sisdiknas).
