The survey data provide the institution with a more in-depth understanding of stakeholders' views on issues related to the World Bank's work on the ground (how it operates, its relationships, and its knowledge) and other development-related issues. The program is overseen by the Department of External and Corporate Relations, Business Intelligence Team. This collection hosts open, accessible survey data from 29 countries collected in FY 2012 (July 2011-June 2012), 41 countries in FY 2013 (July 2012-June 2013), 42 countries in FY 2014 (July 2013-June 2014), 35 countries in FY 2015 (July 2014-June 2015), 45 countries in FY 2016 (July 2015-June 2016), 35 countries in FY 2017 (July 2016-June 2017), and 39 countries in FY 2018 (July 2017-June 2018), 42 countries in FY 2019 (July 2018-June 2019), 21 countries in FY 2020 (July 2019-June 2020), 36 countries in FY 2021 (July 2020-June 2021), 23 countries in FY 2022 (July 2021-June 2022), 31 countries in FY 2023 (July 2022-June 2023) and over 40 countries in FY2024 (July 2023-June 2024). The Country Opinion Survey in Moldova assists the World Bank Group (WBG) in better understanding how stakeholders in Moldova perceive the WBG. It provides the WBG with systematic feedback from national and local governments, multilateral/bilateral agencies, media, academia, the private sector, and civil society in Moldova on 1) their views regarding the general environment in Moldova; 2) their overall attitudes toward the WBG in Moldova; 3) overall impressions of the WBG’s effectiveness and results, knowledge work and activities, and communication and information sharing in Moldova; and 4) their perceptions of the WBG’s future role in Moldova. Sample survey data [ssd] Magenta Consulting From December 2023 to March 2024, a total of 841 stakeholders of the WBG in Moldova were invited to provide their opinions about the WBG’s work in the country by participating in a COS. A list of potential participants was compiled by the WBG country team and the fielding agency. Participants were drawn from the Office of the President, Prime Minister, or a Minister; the office of a parliamentarian; government institutions; local governments; bilateral/ multilateral agencies; the private sector; civil society organizations; academia; and the media. A total of 235 stakeholders participated in the survey. Other [oth] English, Romanian, and Russian. The English version is provided as related material. Comparing responses across Country Surveys reflects changes in attitudes over time, as well as changes in respondent samples, methodology, and the survey instrument itself. To reduce the influence of the latter factor, only questions with similar response scales/options were analyzed. This year’s survey saw an increased outreach to and/or response from government institutions and academia but a decrease from government principals, civil society, and the private sector. These differences in stakeholder composition between the two years should be considered when interpreting the results of the past-year comparison analyses. The response rate was 28%.
