Libya The census covered the entire country. Agricultural Holdings Holding - is defined as a technoeconomic unit of agricultural production wholly or partly used for crop production or livestock keeping or tree crops growing or a mixture of land, livestock and tree crops, operated as an independent economic unit. Economic units raising race horses only were not included in the census. The scope of the Agricultural Census includes the following: - Number and area of holdings - Fragmentation of holdings - Holders by main type of activity - Farm population - Land Use - Irrigation - Temporary crops - Permanent crops - Livestock - Machinery/equipment A list of agricultural holders and holdings was obtained from the 1984 Population Census.
