Data collected for the research includes: (i) source of energy used for cooking purposes (firewood, charcoal, woodcips/sawdust, kerosene, electricity, liquified petroleum gas or butane), (ii) description of property, furniture, and possesions held by the household (e.g. plastic chairs, radio, computer, dining room, etc.), (iii) household demographics and composition

The study uses a random sample of 1154 households from low, middle, and high income households in the city of Kinshasa.
A computer-assisted personal interview was conducted with a digital questionnaire using CSPro 7.0 software to capture responses.
