Definition

A ward or subward (in case of large wards) or segment of a subward (in case of larger subward) or combination of wards (in case of smaller wards) was taken as a PSU in NLFS.

PSU number is a 4 digits code that starts from 1001 to 1800 as there are 800 PSUs in the sample.

Universe

The sampling frame consisted of 35,069 enumeration areas or PSUs (wards or sub-wards or merged wards) spread over 3 ecological zones, 5 development regions, 75 districts, 58 Municipalities and 3,914 Village Development Committees (VDCs) of the country.
