Language English
Publisher(s) National Statistics Office (NSO)
Description The document presents the several stages of processing of foreign trade documents. The first stage is the collection of documents from all ports and airports of the Bureau of Custom (BOC). The collected documents were then submitted to the Foreign Trade Statistics Division, National Statistics Office for receipt and control. The third step is the sorting of documents according to fob value and type whether the cargo was transported by air or vessel. The fourth step involved matching of documents transported by vessel means with the shipping manifests. After matching, the specific data in the documents were converted into numerical codes and transcribed in the processing sheet. The processing sheets were encoded and passed through the rigid editing and reject listing process. The activity was repeated until a clean datafile was reached. The final stage is the generation of import and export trade statistics.
