Description The household questionnaire contains information collected at the household level (housing, expenditures, household enterprises and self-employment, agricultural activities, and credit and savings) and information collected at the individual level (demographics, education, health, fertility and maternal health, economic activity, and time use). The questionnaire is an essential tool for using the data. In addition to containing the questions, it also contains codes and skip patterns.

The Nicaraguan Institute for Statistics and Census and the World Bank were responsible for the collection of the data, but were not responsible for this translation. Users are strongly urged to use the original Spanish version of the questionnaire and the codebook concurrently with this translation in order to be sure they have all of the information they need on skip patterns, special codes, and interviewer instructions.

Description Shortly after completing the 1998 LSMS, Hurricane Mitch hit Central America. INEC returned to the households in the 1998 LSMS in the areas affected by the hurricane to gather additional information. This questionnaire updates the information from the household survey to reflect the conditions after the hurricane.
