Interviewer instructions

While every person who is attending an educational institution is necessarily enrolled in such an institution, it may happen that a person who is enrolled is not currently attending the institution. In order to identify persons who are enrolled but currently not attending, it is to be ascertained if the person is currently enrolled. Enrollment status codes will be given as per the instructions mentioned for status of current attendance codes.

Description

Definition

The current attendance status refers to whether a person is currently attending any educational institution or not. While every person who is attending an educational institution is necessarily enrolled in that institution, it may so happen that a person
who is enrolled is not currently attending the institution. While most of the official educational statistics are based on enrolment, the NSSO Survey, because of its household approach, bases its analysis on the current attendance status.
