<p><svar a="all" v="CR00A006 CR00A007 CR00A010 CR00A011 CR00A072 CR00A073 CR00A400"><span class="em">Question 1: Relation or Relationship to the Head of the Home</span><br /><br />This question considers the relation or kin tie that exists between each one of the members of the home with respect to a person or reference member who for census purposes is the head of the home, and as such is able to form family groups.<br /><br />[To the right of the text is a form.]<br /><br />The <span class="em">head</span> [gender emphasized] is the person considered as such by the rest of the members of the home or who contributes the largest part of the economic resources of the home, or in the last instance, is the oldest.<br /><br />In non family groups the head can be one who has the most authority, the oldest person, the person who has resided in the dwelling the longest or the one who administers the place.<br /><br />For all cases, the head should be a usual resident older than 15 years.<br /><br />Although you should <span class="em">write down the relation or relationship declared</span>by the enumerated person, when doing it consider that:<br /><br /><div class="i1">a. For the case of domestic service and their family members you should keep in mind the concept of <span class="em">usual residence</span>, as in the instructions previously given for its application.<br /><br />b. In collective homes persons will be considered as non family groups, therefore, once a person is identified as head ["la jefa o el jefe"] of this collective home, the rest of the residents will be classified as "<span class="em">Others not family</span>", even though they have some relation or relationship with this head.</div><br /></svar>
