    Abstract

    The purpose of the SAGE survey programme is to collect data on a broad range of self-reported assessments of health and well-being. An individual's self-rated health will be linked to anchoring vignettes and selected objective measures of health to:
    -Improve comparability across individuals, communities and populations;
    -Assess performance on measured tests in a range of different domains of health;
    -Measure well-being, happiness and quality of life;
    -Collect biomarker information;
    -Introduce a longitudinal study design; and,
    -Investigate compression of morbidity in adult and aging populations.
