Definition

For young children with a fever or cough in the past 2 weeks, FEVTRTZ14 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment at an accredited drug dispensing outlet (ADDO) for this illness. This response category is country-specific to Tanzania.

Some samples in the "FEVTR" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

FEVTRTZ14 is combined with FEVTRTZ12 (private pharmacy) and FEVTRTZ13 (private dispensary) in FEVTRPRIVDRUG (all private, formal drug sources) for the 2015 Tanzania sample.
