    Household Labor Force Survey being implemented first tine in 1994 by Statistical Office of Montenegro, is the main data source which provides information about those employed; economic activity, occupation, employment status and working hours, while the unemployed; search for your job search time and is being implemented in order to compile information about their work in our country with the supply side of the labor market.

    The significant methodological changes were introduced in 2007.
    Abstract

    The Labor Force Survey collects information on the economically active population as recommended by the ILO (International Labour Organisation). The labor force includes all persons working or seeking work in order to earn their living. Therefore, the main categories which are studied are total employment, unemployment, and demographic, educational, socio-economic and other characteristics of individuals that are in each of the individual groups.

    The scope of the study includes:

    • Demographic characteristics: age, sex, marital status, place/country of birth, nationality;
    • Main labour related characteristics: employment, unemployment, underemployment, hours of work;
    • Other labour related characteristics: industry, occupation, status in employment, size of establishment, full time/part time status, permanency of the job.

    Sampling Procedure

    The surveying was done in 8 156 households on the territory of Montenegro. The survey collected data about demographic characteristics for members of the households (25 465 persons were surveyed), and data about economic activity for persons aged 15 and more (21 127 persons, which makes 1.2% of the total number of interwied persons aged 15 and more).
