Abstract
A pesar de los esfuerzos del Ministerio de Salud y Organismos Internacionales por promocionar la lactancia materna exclusiva, ésta se ve afectada por la influencia televisiva, la cultura, creencias y mitos que generan comportamientos equivocados de rechazo e indiferencia en primigestas, quienes prefieren el consumo de fórmulas lácteas. El objetivo fue determinar la efectividad del programa educativo en conocimientos y prácticas sobre la lactancia materna exclusiva en primigestas en el Puesto de Salud- Ancol Chico Olmos, 2013. La hipótesis planteada fue el nivel de conocimiento y prácticas de lactancia materna exclusiva en primigestas aumentan después de participar en el Programa Educativo, simbolizándose de la siguiente manera: H1=X1

Despite the efforts of the Ministry of Health and international organizations to promote exclusive breastfeeding, it is affected by the influence of television, culture, beliefs and myths that generated wrong indifference and rejection behaviors in primigravid who prefer consumption milk formulas. The objective was to determine the effectiveness of the educational program on the knowledge and practice exclusive breastfeeding in primigravida at Health Post - Ancol Chico Olmos, 2013. The hypothesis was the level of knowledge and practice of exclusive breastfeeding in primiparous increase after participating in the Education Program follows: H1 = X1 < X2. Quantitative research design with pretest-posttest with one group. The sample population consisted of 23 primigravidas attending antenatal care of the Health Ancol Chico, the sample was selected by non-probability convenience sampling with volunteer participants. Data collection was performed using a questionnaire that measured level of knowledge validated test Crombach (0.81), and checklist to measure the practices validated by expert judgment and MINSA, both instruments were applied before and after the educational program. Principles of Bioethics Personality Sgreccia were used. The results showed that the educational program had a significant effect, good level of knowledge in 96% and 91% level of practices appropriate post-program, with a statistical significance of p < 0.001 in the post.
