Abstract
The use of insecticides has been increasing in Nepal. Present paper aims to assess the spatial
dimensions of the use pattern of insecticides in the country. This paper is based on available
secondary information. The results show that the use of insecticides varies with types of crop
grown, biophysical condition and access to service infrastructures such as roads and market
towns. The use of insecticides in terms of number of holdings is comparatively higher in
sugarcane, paddy and potato, in Tarai districts located in subtropical zone and the hills with
better access to market and other service infrastructures.
