Abstract
This paper describes and infers the structure of the income distribution that
Ecuadorians obtain by their work adjusted to the hours of work and inflation to get
better representation of their purchasing power that receive due to the hours
dedicated to their work activity, in This study highlights that there has been a
significant increase in income from 2007 to 2014, the inequality measured in
quantile ratio has declined significantly from 2007 to 2014 and increased from 2015
to 2016. On the distribution side by Sex, it is observed that there is a gap between
income in favor of men and this gap is higher among people who receives the lowest
income for their work hours compared to those who receive a higher income, in
addition it is observed that in the geographical area Coastal, the inequality is greater
in urban than rural areas, this phenomenon is not observed in other geographical
areas, although this difference has been declining over the years and lastly it is
observed that those with higher education receive higher income for their work
compared to those who do not have this level of education.
